Preschool

  • Go Glow Grow
  • Go Glow Grow uses a fun and effective format for introducing preschoolers to food and how it keeps them healthy. The nutrition objectives include recognizing MyPlate, identifying Go, Glow, and Grow foods, knowing that children need physical activity every day, and how to appropriately wash their hands. Curriculum can be used in schools and ECE settings.

Middle School

  • TWIGS: Teams with Intergenerational Support (Grades K-8)
  • Teams with Intergenerational Support (TWIGS) includes lessons that connect gardening with nutrition for children in K-8th grade. The focus is to positively influence participants’ food choices through the development and harvesting of a vegetable garden. Curriculum can be used during school, after school and with 4-H programs.

  • EatFit (Grades 6-8)
  • EatFit teaches students to set goals which establish appropriate health habits for adolescence. Students explore and practice the skills needed for a physically active lifestyle and to make healthy food choices. Curriculum can be used during school, after school and with 4-H programs.

  • UP4It - Level 2 (Grades 6-8)
  • UP4It - Level 2 encourages youth to consume nutrient-rich foods and to achieve at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. Curriculum can be used during school, after school and with 4-H programs.

  • Youth Participatory Action Research - Stepping Stones Curriculum (Middle School)
  • The Stepping Stones Curriculum provides youth with the opportunity to engage their leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, service learning, and strategic-thinking skills to address issues that that affect their communities, ultimately resulting in community change.

  • Grub Club
  • The Grub Club curriculum (ages 5-9) contains 6 hands-on lessons. Each lesson includes activities, a cooking demonstration, preparation of a recipe, mealtime with discussions, and clean-up. Lessons can be led by adults or 4-H teens ages 14 and up who are educated to be the "Teens as Teachers."

  • 4-H Cooking Academy (ages 9-12) inspires upper elementary school age “chefs” to engage actively with food. They learn basic culinary skills to prepare healthy recipes from start to finish with guided supervision. Lessons can be led by adults or 4-H teens ages 14 and up who are educated to be the "Teens as Teachers."

  • Eating Healthy from Farm to Fork (Grades K-2)
  • Eating Healthy from Farm to Fork is a nutrition curriculum that connects local food systems, garden-based learning, and school food service to establish healthy habits. The lessons actively engage children in learning about healthy choices for food and fitness. Curriculum can be used during school.

Curriculum can be used during school, after school and with 4-H programs.

  • In the Good for Me and You curriculum, students explore a healthy body and lifestyle, study MyPlate, and learn about nutrients and what they do for their bodies. Students also learn that eating breakfast, drinking healthy beverages, exercising and keeping food safe are good for their body. This curriculum can be used during school, after school and with 4-H programs.

  • It's My Choice... Eat Right! Be Active! (Grade 3)
  • It's My Choice... Eat Right! Be Active! is a nutrition curriculum where students examine the key nutrients from the MyPlate five food groups and learn how to make healthy choices. They identify how vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and proteins provide the building blocks needed for good health. Curriculum can be used during school, after school and with 4-H programs.

  • Cooking Up Healthy Choices (Grades 4-6)
  • Cooking Up Healthy Choices is part of the Shaping Healthy Choices program. It is learner-centered nutrition curriculum developed for the program's Nutrition Education & Promotion component. It includes five cooking demos from cultures around the world, with activities, recipes, handouts. Curriculum can be used during and after school.

  • Healthy Choices in Motion (Grades 4-6)
  • Healthy Choices in Motion is a multi-component approach developed as part of the Shaping Healthy Choices program. This curriculum allows students to explore a comprehensive set of physical activity concepts, including the benefits of physical activity, recommendations across the lifespan, the five components of physical fitness, why doing a variety of physical activity is important, and what being physical activity means to you. Curriculum can be used during school, after school and with 4-H programs.

  • Nutrition to Grow On (Grades 4-6)
  • Nutrition to Grow On is an innovative curriculum that links the garden and nutrition education by teaching children and their families about nutrition through garden activities. In the lessons, science, mathematics, language arts, history, environmental studies, nutrition and health are reinforced. Curriculum can be used during school, after school and with 4-H programs.

  • Hunger Attack/Money Talks is a curriculum designed to teach teens that the food they buy not only affects the amount of money they spend, but can also affect their health.
